Year 1002 - 1788 B.X. First Sun

From his last experience, Xaltion knew if he told the three he wasn't going with them, they would destroy his world once and for all. In that moment, Xaltion was forced to make a decision. Either he would go away from the world forever with his siblings, or he would have to get rid of the three.

His decision made, Xaltion tempted the three by telling them that there was something very interesting he wanted to show them. They were, of course, anxious to see whatever it was their brother was talking about so they did as he told them. He had them compress their forms into much smaller than their natural size. He then led them into the center of the sphere, beneath earth and rock to the very core of his world.

Once there, the three looked around at the crystal formations and lava lakes, but found nothing of great interest. When they went to question Xaltion, they found him head bowed and sighing sadly. He spoke to them then, telling them how he had always treasured them and that he was sorry for what he was about to do. The three, feeling quite baffled, soon understood what Xaltion was doing. Xaltion used his power combined with the unique energy created in the world core to form a prison around the three.

They let up a cry of protest and began to throw their own power against the walls of energy, but to no avail. The walls just became stronger. In their compressed forms, they were no match for the combined powers of Xaltion and the core's energies. Xaltion shed a single tear, his first, and when it fell to the ground, the power contained within that tear reacted with the core's energy and suddenly the world coursed with magic.

All four were briefly stunned from this, but Xaltion recovered first. He immediately began to pull from the immense pool of power now available to him and directed the energies at the three enraged gods, binding them to the planet and to the core. When he did this, each god's unique power coursed through the world. Xaltion's was manifested in creativity and healing, Kezarai's would later be known as Necromancy. Keysa's would be captured in the form of Summoning, and Fergatu's was very chaotic and unpredictable. The three were now imprisoned for all of eternity, tied to the world not only by Xaltion's power, but also by their own and that of the world itself. They screamed at Xaltion and raged against the bindings but it was all in vain.

Xaltion gazed one last time at his siblings, then ascended out of the core and the world to once again assume his normal form. Xaltion knew there had always been power in the world. He had watched as the occasional person would be born with the ability to sense it, but not understand it. All the creatures he had made were sensitive to magic in one way or another. Some, however were born with a strong ability to control and manipulate it, but without the knowledge of how to use that control.

With the introduction of the new powers, those who had the ability to use magic could no longer ignore the pull. They began to experiment. Many deaths and a bit of destruction occurred over the many years of experimentation, but within a few hundred years, the races had developed spells and rituals that allowed them to use the powers now available.

The original elves came to be known as High Elves. Some of the elves evolved differently, however, and wandered off. They created a virtually new race that was subsequently called the Tree Elves. These elves were much like the Elves from whom they were descended, but they had different creative tendencies and an uncanny ability to tap into the World Power. They could commune and control animal and plant, land and water, air and weather. They were a marvel to Xaltion. Not only for their abilities, but because he had not created them, it seemed the world itself had created them.

Now there were four races for Xaltion to watch and of which he could be proud. Within a few hundred years he had forgotten about his brothers and sister imprisoned in the center of the world. They, however, had not forgotten him.
